Day 1: Reykjavik, Iceland

In the southwest of Iceland near Faxaflói Bay lies the capital of the country, Reykjavík, simultaneously cosmopolitan and charming. The colorful houses on the horizon create a quaint scene that will make you want to stay forever.Kaleidoscopic views await you at the Harpa Concert Hall, a glittering, glass structure that perfectly exemplifies Iceland’s modern design and will fascinate your inner architect. One of Iceland’s most prominent landmarks is Perlan, originally a group of hot water tanks that was converted to a building that now hosts an exhibition, planetarium, restaurant and observation deck, located atop Öskjuhlíð hill..

Dinner included.

Day 2: Patreksfjörður, Iceland - Solar Eclipse (At Sea)

Tales of sea monsters and sorcerers, bold and beautiful peaks, and charming pubs abound in Patreksfjörður, sitting amid the extraordinary Westfjords. Trek the beach at Rauðisandur (translating to Red Sands). Named for their golden-red hue, these sands create a stunning scene as they meet the bright blue waters. From Patreksfjörður you can also venture to the breathtaking Dynjandi waterfall, the biggest waterfall in the Westfjords. Visit the neighboring village of Hólmavík, home of the world-famous Icelandic Museum of Witchcraft and Sorcery.

Out at sea with only a never-ending expanse of horizon all around is the perfect way to look to the sky as the moment of totality approaches. Gathered on deck with your expedition guide - a resident astronomer - and fellow explorers, there’s an atmosphere of anticipation. Let the astronomy expert engage you with insight into the cosmic phenomenon. As we marvel at the spectacle, there will also be a wonderful celebration to mark the occasion.

Please note: Your eclipse viewing experience may change based on weather or cloud coverage.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Day 3: Grímsey Island, Iceland

Home to about 100 people — the northernmost inhabited island in Iceland — and one million birds, Grímsey Island is a treasure in the Arctic Circle. The residents enjoy 24 hours of sun throughout the summer, as do the Puffins. Look for the stone sphere marking the edge of the Arctic Circle. Its design makes it easier to move as the Arctic Circle moves, always keeping the true demarcation. Grímsey Island is a birdwatcher’s paradise, filled with various species, including razorbills, kittiwakes, auks and thick-billed murres. Amid the breathtaking landscapes are the island’s basalt columns. These geometric geological structures covered in lush moss dip into the water, creating a mesmerizing scene.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Day 4: Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland

The name "Ittoqqortoormiit" means "Big-House Dwellers" in the Eastern Greenlandic dialect. Very few visitors make the trek here, as the winters are long, and the sea is frozen for nine months of the year. Ittoqqortoormiit is located at Scoresby Sound and with its side fjord is the largest fjord complex in the world, as well as the world’s longest fjord. Within its borders is the tallest mountain in the Arctic region, the two-mile-tall Gunnbjorn Mountain. During early spring, when the sea ice is still thick, yet the sun is high in the sky, many of the local people go out for a weekend on dog sledding trips.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Day 5: Fjords of Greenland - Captain’s Choice

A once-in-a-lifetime adventure is yours to have on the largest island in the world, Greenland. At the very top of the world, it’s renowned for its vast tundra, immense glaciers and deep fjords. From an aerial view, the systems link together like the roots of a massive tree and stretching coastlines are dotted with small islands. Landscapes include enormous icebergs and glaciers. Depending on the time of year, you may see polar bears hunt on the ice.

CAPTAIN’S CHOICE - Your Captain will expertly navigate ice floes, icebergs and changing sea and weather conditions to ensure you experience the most from your expedition. Each day is a new adventure filled with a spontaneous sense of exploration as your Captain works with our expedition team to determine possible shore landings and Zodiac safaris. All itinerary routes serve as examples and are subject to change based on current conditions, prioritizing the safety and optimal expedition experience for all guests.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Day 6: At Sea

Spend the day on the high seas pampering yourself at the spa or enjoying some time on deck. Mingle with your fellow explorers and swap stories of your exploits, making plans for new ones together once you get to shore.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Day 7: Tasiilaq, Greenland

In Tasiilaq, vibrant Inuit culture meets the rugged beauty of Greenland’s east coast. Nestled among towering fjords and vast icebound terrains, it offers a unique combination of culture, history, and unforgettable adventure. Here, you’re transported into a world where time-honored traditions are integral to daily life. The spirit of the Inuit people thrives in the colorful houses that dot the landscape and the rhythmic drum dances that narrate centuries-old stories. The small yet captivating Ammassalik Museum unveils the area’s rich history, from ancient hunting tools to kayaks that once glided through icy waters. Engage with the warm local communities, renowned for their artisanal crafts and storytelling prowess. The town’s bustling harbor is a hive of activity where fishermen haul the day’s catch, offering you a taste of freshly caught Arctic char and other local delicacies. For the adventurous, there may be opportunities for hiking Flower Valley to breathtaking views, kayaking through serene fjords or whale watching for humpbacks during their summer migration.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Day 8: At Sea

Spend the day on the high seas pampering yourself at the spa or enjoying some time on deck. Mingle with your fellow explorers and swap stories of your exploits, making plans for new ones together once you get to shore.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Day 9: Grundarfjörður, Iceland

Amid the wondrous features of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula lies the small town of Grundarfjörður, home to fewer than 1,000 inhabitants. Its shining star of a landmark, Kirkjufell, translating to "Church Mountain," beckons explorers to come and discover the beauty of Iceland. Together with the mountain, a three-pronged waterfall called Kirkjufellsfoss creates an exquisite scene straight out of fantasy. Taking a walk through the center of town, you will come across an orca on land. It’s actually a sculpture created by Unnsteinn Guðmundsson and it was modeled after Thunderstorm the orca, a male whale who often greets visitors during whale watching tours.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Day 10: Reykjavik, Iceland

In the southwest of Iceland near Faxaflói Bay lies the capital of the country, Reykjavík, simultaneously cosmopolitan and charming. The colorful houses on the horizon create a quaint scene that will make you want to stay forever.Kaleidoscopic views await you at the Harpa Concert Hall, a glittering, glass structure that perfectly exemplifies Iceland’s modern design and will fascinate your inner architect. At Eclipse Travel, our expert destination knowledge and decades of travel planning experience come at no extra cost to you. While many think booking through a tour operator is more expensive than planning a trip independently, that’s not the case. We’re paid by our travel partners—such as hotels, activity operators, and cruise providers—via commissions, not by our clients.

Our team negotiates the best rates for you and ensures you receive unbiased advice, with no preference for any particular supplier. In fact, where we secure higher commissions, we often pass the savings on to you, giving us a competitive price edge.

Additionally, we lock in exchange rates at the time of your deposit, ensuring no surprise costs when it’s time for final payment. You can rest easy knowing we’ll handle the details with our suppliers. The only exceptions are national park fee increases or fuel surcharges imposed after your booking, though these are rare.

Take advantage of our team’s expertise and let us help you plan the perfect holiday—hassle-free!
