Excursions
Awasi is situated inside an ancient site surrounded by a historic wall, which for years housed shepherds and herders. Its privileged location just a stone’s throw from the center of town makes it possible to enjoy “town life”. We invite you to visit the church, the museum, the fair, the picturesque local stores and get to know the people.
At Awasi, excursions are private, exclusive, and are programmed according to your preferences and pace. Your private guide will help you to plan your trips and will accompany you during your stay. You can choose full- or half-day trips.
We offer easy strolls or intense treks for the more adventurous, horse-back riding, bicycle rides, visits to archaeological sites, visits to the salt flats, Altiplano lagoons or villages hidden among the deep valleys. You can get up at dawn to go and see the geysers and relax in the thermal pools. Bird watching or an evening astronomic tour with local guides are some of the experiences you can organize during your stay at Awasi.

Cultural Trips
There are religious festivals that are celebrated mixing the ancestral rites with the Catholic cult brought over by the Spaniards. Examples are the Fiesta de la Candelaria on 2 February, and San Pedro on 29 June.
Climate
A characteristic of the desert climate is the marked fluctuation in temperature between day and night. Days are luminous and agreeable all year round.
In winter (June, July and August) the average temperature is 22ºC (72ºF) during the day and at night it goes down to around 4ºC (39ºF); temperatures can occasionally go below freezing.
In summer the temperature varies between 28ºC (82ºF) during the day and 16ºC (61ºF) at night. During these months the temperature can reach 32ºC (90ºF).
About the Hotel
The hotel has only eight rooms built of stone, adobe and wood with thatched roofs. Their ample spaces of more than 60 m² (646 sq ft), with comfortable lounge chairs, large bathrooms opening out onto private open-air patios with solarium and showers are really unique, designed for relaxation, privacy and a well-deserved rest.
